Our journey

Khajani Institute for skill development and training for women was established in Mathura in the year 2007 by Dr. HM Maheshwari. He gave this responsibility of running this institute to his daughter Mrs. Shipra Rathi.
Keeping in mind the need then , quality education for computers, beauty and wellness and dress designing was introduced.  The Institute started training with 246 students in the first year and admissions kept increasing gradually. A minimum fees was charged from the girls.
Selflessly working to make them independent ,Shipraji also taught them communication and verbal skills to groom them overall.  Soon enough, a lot of girls and women from the economically weaker sections started approching the institute . Since they could not afford to join but were very keen and enthusiatic to learn , Shipraji then approached individual sponsors and companies in the year 2012 to help support students through scholarships.
That year they started off with  5 scholarships. The demand for it kept increasing and resources were limited so hence many students had to be denied of scholarships.  In the year 2017 , Shipraji approached the managing trustee of  Smt. Sitadevi Taparia Charitable Trust for sponsorships. The trust started off by supporting 40 students then 90 and in the year 2019 the trust was sponsoring 500 girls and women. The institute by then had a mix of paid and scholarship students.
Over the years of working together the thought process, ideologies and value system of both the families blended well. In 2020 Smt Sitadevi Taparia Charitable Trust planned to fund Khajani institute as a whole and since then there was no looking back.
During the pandemic,  the institute faced a lot of challenges and difficulties but in a few days was extremely successful in going fully online.  With the help and support of the Institute , students formed small self-help groups and they started taking orders for cloth masks and PPE kits in order to support their families.
In the last 15 years more than 18000 girls and women have completed vocational courses to become self-reliant and independent. Many boutiques and beauty parlours have opened up in mathura by the students and many more are working for the same.
To scale higher and offer more opportunities to enhance further growth -In April 2022  Smt Sitadevi Taparia Charitable Trust fully adopted Khajani Institute as an initiative of the trust.  SDTT khajani institute is now an arm of the trust. We decided to move to a much bigger and better premises teaching world class skilling facilities and quality education keeping in mind all NSDC guidelines.
To keep up with the current times Sdtt Khajani institute has introduced new courses on Textile design and Fine arts and painting. To complete this circle of women empowerment and to instill entrepreneurship in women we have now introduced a business incubation program where women are taught and handheld on how to run their own business to become a budding enterpreneur.
This is just a small way to help being a part of the different campaigns launched by the government like Aatmnirbhar India,  Make in India and Skill India.

Our Journey
Khajani Institute for Skill Development and Training for women was established In Mathura in 2007 By Dr. H.M Maheshwari. He gave the responsibility of running the Institute to his daughter Ms. Shipra Rathi.
Keeping in mind the need for quality skill education they began with certificate courses in Computers, Beauty and Wellness, and Dress Designing. The Institute enrolled 246 students in the first year.
To groom them holistically and make them confident and independent, communication and verbal skills were added as part of the curriculum. As the institute grew, women from the economically challenged community started approaching for admissions. They were very keen to learn skills to stand on their feet but paying the fee was a challenge. In 2012 the institute started a scholarship program to support 5 of these students. As the years went by the student strength increased and so did the need for skill training. In 2017, Smt. Sitadevi Taparia Charitable Trust joined hands to support, by giving scholarships to 40 women. The strength of the students grew to 650 in 2019 of which 500 were part of the scholarship program under the trust. During the pandemic, despite the difficulties that we faced, online classes and training were quickly set up. Students with the support of the institute formed small Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and started taking orders for cloth masks and PPE Kits to supply to industries which helped them to earn an income.
In these last 15 years, more than 18000 women have completed skill training courses and become self-reliant and financially independent.
To scale operations in April 2022, Smt. Sitadevi Taparia Charitable Trust adopted Khajani Institute as an arm of the Trust. Today SDTT Khajani Institute with its new identity has moved to bigger premises and introduced new courses imparting quality skill training and education with world-class facilities keeping in mind all NSDC guidelines. To match the vision of our leaders Atma Nirbhar India, Make in India and Skill India, we have started a Business Incubation Program to grow the community of women entrepreneurs.
